Ford Motor Company are steeped in motorsport history , namely Rallying with the MK1 and MK2 Escorts.
It is often said the biggest mistake they made was going to front wheel drive on most of their range. The MK3 Escort was the first of the new breed and although extremely popular should have been RWD. With this 1990 XR3i we are putting our own stamp on the car that should have been RWD.
It is being built from the Ford parts bin in true Ford fashion with the exception of a 6 speed Mazda gearbox , still Ford owned though.
The power is supplied by the ubiquitous Zetec Blacktop with the addition of Eagle rods JE pistons and ARP bolts to keep it all in one piece , 8.2:1 compression , T3 turbo , Canems engine management , COP ignition , custom inlet and exhaust manifolds plus much more, watch this unfold in the coming months.
